This item consists of a football cartoon from
THOMAS "PAP" PAPROCKI
(1902-1973).  This was clipped from a newspaper in ~1956.  The player depicted is JIM
SWINK
, TCU running back (2nd in Heisman voting in 1955)
.  Swink also played for the Dallas Texans in their inaugural season (1960).  In 1980, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.  See text and photos above for condition.

This auction is for a very rare Sports Page cardboard advertisement sign poster. These were distributed bi-weekly. This particular sign is Vol 2, Issue 3 from Feb 6-20, 1984. It features Dr J Julius Erving in the main article.
This specific ad poster was originally displayed back in 1983 in a small grocery market in Kensington in Philadelphia, PA. I assume they also had a more widespread distribution, but Kensington is where I obtained this specific sign. It is also rare due to the fact that it contains Winston cigarette tobacco advertising. The size of the sign is 36" x 23". It will be shipped flat.
It is in overall good condition and has been stored for the past 30+ years. It has not been hung or displayed. The edges have some issues & water damage, as shown in the pictures.
